Korea Masters 2023: Shesar Qualifies For Second Round
JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player Shesar Hiren Rhustavito qualified for the second round of the 2023 Korea Masters.
He won dramatically three games 21-11, 16-21, and 21-17 over Japanese representative Yushi Tanaka at the Gwangju Women's University Stadium, Korea, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 morning WIB.
"I'm very grateful to be able to win today's game but the most important thing for me is to be able to compete until it's finished without injury," said Shesar after the match.
Shesar appeared so dominant at the start of the first game. He scored six points in a row and his position could no longer be overtaken.
"In the first game maybe the opponent could not anticipate my game, he seemed very difficult to develop the game," said Shesar.
In the second game, Shesar also had time to lead his opponent. He then fell behind after 3-3 and could not catch up with Yushi anymore.
"In the second game, he tried to change the tempo by continuing to scare me with his attack. It made it difficult for me and even it continued until the third game interval," he said.

In Shesar's third game and the opponent played very tight. He was even left behind before rising and winning the game.
"After being 2-3 points behind at the end of the third game, I forced myself to attack, looking for ways to get an attack. It was from the start that I was able to freeze things," added Shesar.
This season Shesar's trip has had a lot of ups and downs. He repeatedly suffered injuries so he missed several important tournaments.
"Now I want to perform optimally in every match without any fear of getting injured again, sometimes that thought is hard to forget," he said.
In the second half, Shesar will face Wang Tzu Wei. The fifth seed from Chinese Taipei escaped after his compatriot, Chia Hao Lee, was stopped.
