A Year Fugitive, Jambi Prosecutor's Office Arrests Bumdes Corruptor In Batanghari
JAMBI - The Jambi High Prosecutor's Fugitive Arrest Team (Tabur Kejati) arrested Muhammad Atiq, the perpetrator of the criminal act of corruption in the funds of BUMDes Snapu Jaya, Batanghari Regency, Jambi, which since last year has been designated as a wanted list (DPO) of the prosecutor's office.
Head of the Information and Law Section of the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office, Lexy Fatharani, in Jambi on Friday said that the arrest of the perpetrators of corruption in BUMDes funds worth Rp262 million was carried out by the Jambi Attorney General's Office Tabur team at the place of the convict Atiq in Olak Besar Village, Bathin XXIV, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province.
"After receiving information on the whereabouts of the defendant in his hiding place, the arrests were made on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at around 19.30 WIB by the Attorney General's Tabur Team together with the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati), Batanghari Kejari and Cabjari Tembesi who succeeded in executing a DPO named Muhammad Atiq," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 2.
For information, Muhammad Atiq, who was then Director of BUMDes Snapu Jaya, was a fugitive from the Tembes Prosecutor's Office (Cabjari), after being found guilty of corruption in the deviation of the Snapu Jaya BUMDes Fund with 2018 and sentenced to six years and six months in prison and paying compensation of Rp150 million according to the Corruption Court Decision No. 15/Pid.Sus-TPK/2022/PN.Jmb dated August 3, 2022 without being attended by the defendant.
"When Atiq was arrested, he was cooperative, so that the security process went smoothly, then he was taken to the Batanghari District Attorney's Office for a handover and the plan was to be executed at Batanghari Prison," said Lexy.

The convict Muhammad Atiq has received a capital investment fund of Rp262 million, but the Director of BUMDes Snapu Jaya is instead used for personal gain, namely for the palm oil DO business by depositing routine profits every month.
"This is the execution after a long time after the DPO was based on the decision of the Jambi Corruption Court on July 27, 2022 which was tried in absentia, then the AGO's Tabur team, Jambi Prosecutor's Office together with the Batanghari Kejari and Cabjari Tembesi have secured the DPO on behalf of Muhammad Atiq in Olek Besar Village, at 19.20 WIB," said Lexy Fatharani.
