This Is Ganjar Pranowo's Strategy To Overcome Poverty And Stunting

BOGOR - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, has prepared a new strategy for dealing with poverty and stunting. He will create a micro-targeting program by cooperating with village heads to sub-district heads in all regions in Central Java.

This was conveyed by Ganjar after attending the 2023 Forkopimda National Coordination Meeting in Sentul, Bogor, Tuesday 17 January. In the event chaired directly by President Joko Widodo, all regional heads and Forkopimda officials were present to receive briefings.

Jokowi emphasized several things during the meeting. One of them is the problem of handling poverty and stunting. "I think the President is raising the start flag for the 2023 fiscal year, so that everything is ready," said Ganjar Pranowo.

Including, he continued, how to deal with poverty and stunting. Central Java will quickly respond to the president's direction by creating a poverty and stunting reduction program with micro targeting.

"So we hope to be able to find out in detail, who is poor, where the data is, how many there are, what the intervention is like. And if there is one, it must be handled collaboratively," he said.

So far, said Ganjar, poverty and stunting programs have been running well in Central Java. However, after the pandemic, there were several areas that experienced an increase.

"But we are still on standby. So, God willing, starting this week we will be roadshowing in several places and giving assignments to the village heads to collect data in detail. I have asked the sub-district head to coordinate and each regent will be responsible in his area," he said.

Not only that, Ganjar also highlighted the president's message that investment must be facilitated. Also the use of APBD and APBN can stimulate economic growth, unemployment and poverty.

"So the hope is that after this briefing we will all be more solid and ready to really face 2023 more certain, more measurable with clearer targets," concluded Ganjar Pranowo.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo in his remarks gave a number of directions. Among them are related to inflation, extreme poverty, stunting, increased investment, and utilization of the budget for the prosperity of the people.

"Inflation is now the scourge of all countries. We should be grateful that our inflation is 5.5 percent. Look at other countries, it is even up to 92 percent. I ask all governors, regents, mayors, together with Bank Indonesia, to continue to maintain inflation by monitoring the prices of goods and services. on the field," he said.

Regarding extreme poverty, Jokowi said all parties must work hard and work together to solve it. According to him, all the data already exists, the way to solve it also understanding how to intervene.

"Including the handling of stunting, all the data already exists. It only remains to be handled seriously. We can learn from handling the pandemic. If you are serious and work hard, like when handling COVID-19, then I'm sure you can do it," he stressed.
