JAKARTA – Some changes made by the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, have annoyed some users. Users who are active on the microblogging platform are now starting to look for other social media alternatives.
The changes include Musk's decision to charge fees for user verification, as well as his opinion on content moderation. This is considered to have limited and burdensome users.
While there are several other social media applications that offer platforms that can be an alternative to Twitter.

MASTODON
Launched in 2016, Mastodon is open-source software for a decentralized social network, with some features similar to Twitter. This app is free of ads, has a limit of 500 characters, as well as custom emojis.

This platform allows users to target audiences to increase engagement on posts and say users can find experts on the topic of discussion.

Nashville-based Parler, who has agreed to sell his company to the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, is popular with US conservatives.
Founded in 2018, Parler's hands-off approach to content moderation has made it popular with users who disagree with Meta Platform Inc's policies, on Facebook as well as Instagram, and Twitter, on content moderation.

The app also allows users to chat with each other just like Twitter's direct message function.

This app allows users to chat with people all over the world in what it calls "Rooms" where one can start an audio chat room and discuss topics of interest.
The app does not follow an invitation-only system for users to access the platform.
