JAKARTA – Some changes made by the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, have annoyed some users. Users who are active on the microblogging platform are now starting to look for other social media alternatives.

The changes include Musk's decision to charge fees for user verification, as well as his opinion on content moderation. This is considered to have limited and burdensome users.

While there are several other social media applications that offer platforms that can be an alternative to Twitter.

Founded in 2018, Parler's hands-off approach to content moderation has made it popular with users who disagree with Meta Platform Inc's policies, on Facebook as well as Instagram, and Twitter, on content moderation.

TUMBLR

Tumblr is a social media website launched in 2007 that allows users to post long-form blog-style content with media elements such as photos and GIFs.

The app also allows users to chat with each other just like Twitter's direct message function.

Platforms that host live audio chat rooms are gaining popularity at the height of the pandemic.

This app allows users to chat with people all over the world in what it calls "Rooms" where one can start an audio chat room and discuss topics of interest.
