JAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics Crime of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is investigating the origin of 43 kilograms of cocaine in the coastal area of the Anambas Islands, Riau Islands. Including, analyzing whether there is a connection with the findings of 179 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in Banten waters.

"We are also analyzing whether there is a connection between the findings of 179 kilograms in Banten waters some time ago and the findings of cocaine in the Riau Islands", said the Director of Drug Crimes at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar, when confirmed, Wednesday, July 6.

Then, in investigating the findings of tens of kilograms of cocaine, a team was formed and deployed to look for information and clues.

In addition, this team will also accompany a team from the Riau Islands Police in the investigation process.

"The National Police's Criminal Investigation Department has assigned investigators to assist the Riau Islands Police to analyze the 43 kilograms of cocaine found in the waters of Anambas Island", said Krisno.

For information, 43 kilograms of cocaine were found in 36 packages on the coast of the Anambas Islands, Riau Islands, Friday, July 1.

The cocaine-type drug was first discovered by residents. At that time, he was looking for used goods. However, accidentally found a suspicious package. So, it was immediately reported to the local police.

The initial number found only 25 packages. However, after being traced back 11 packages containing cocaine were found.
