Envy Mike Tyson's Punch Quality, Canelo Alvarez: If He Runs At You, He'll Knock You Down

JAKARTA - Canelo Alvarez is known to have no envy of other boxers. However, the Mexican boxer admitted he wanted to have the power of Mike Tyson's punch.

The undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo will face Dmitry Bivol on Sunday morning (Saturday local time). Ahead of the fight, he praised Tyson's abilities.

"He did a brutal punch," he told DAZN of Tyson's punch. "Even if he grazes you, he will knock you down."

In response, Canelo's coach, Chepo Reynoso, felt that his protege was physically very similar to Tyson.

"Canelo has worked hard on his physique, he looks so strong like a true 175-pound. He reminds me of Mike Tyson," Reynoso told YouTube channel KO Boxing Sports.

“Tyson is like that, a bit short for his weight, but he is very strong and hits a lot, Saul has a very wide neck too and I am optimistic he will win the duel against Bivol.

"He thinks and knows how to handle a fight," added the coach.
