Claiming To Have Proof Of Ukrainian Provocation, Russia: They Detonated Chemical Tanks, Capable Of Destroying Life Radius Of 30 Km

JAKARTA - Russian authorities claim to have evidence of a Ukrainian provocation of a chemical attack to corner Moscow, saying it could endanger the lives of those around it.

Russia has credible evidence that Kyiv is planning more chemical provocations with the support of US advisers, said Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russian delegation at a conference on military security and arms control in Vienna, Austria, which was posted on the Foreign Ministry's website.

"The Kyiv regime is fundamentally wrong to think that international law gives freedom to carry out acts of mass violence, including direct terror against civilians," he was quoted as saying by TASS, April 8.

"On April 5, the Ukrainian army before leaving Rubezhnoye, in the People's Republic of Lugansk, blew up a tank with chemicals at the site of the Zarya industrial plant. 40,000 tons of sulfuric, hydrochloric, and nitric acids, and ammonia still remained there. If it exploded, it is capable of destroying all life within 30 kilometers," Gavrilov said.

"We have credible evidence that Kyiv is planning another chemical provocation with support from US masterminds."

He further warned that one possible scenario was the explosion of a railroad tank with chlorine (up to 800 tons) at the Kochetok railway station, Kharkov Region.

“It is not surprising that Washington has handed over a number of chemical protection suits to Kyiv. At the same time, to cover up such underhanded schemes, it baselessly accuses Russia of plotting provocations."

"By doing so, he is following the habits of a slanderous campaign. This is not the first time they have used such a trick," said Gavrilov.
