Netflix's 'Play Something' Feature Makes It Easy For Users To Watch New Movies

JAKARTA - Choosing one of the many interesting contents available on Netflix is not always easy, sometimes it can even take some time.

But now Netflix is launching a new feature, Play Something to make it easier for users to choose to watch new films.

This feature is basically a random button for Netflix, which selects un-watched shows or movies based on previous viewing habits.

"The Play Something feature allows our members to enjoy new content on Netflix without having to search. You can also click Play Other Titles to watch movies or series that have been selected according to your preferences," said Director, Product Innovation Netflix, Cameron Johnson in his official statement received by VOI, Thursday, April 29.

According to the company, the feature uses Netflix's algorithm to determine which content a user might be interested in based on what has been watched or stored.

In times of a pandemic like today, the Play Something feature is perfect for those who want to change their routine, or just entertain themselves in an easy way.

This feature that has been released globally on television sets can also help parents who want to practically present family-friendly shows for their children as quality entertainment at home.

Netflix also plans to bring it to Android devices soon, but it's unclear when it will arrive on Apple mobile devices. However, the company doesn't plan to make the Play Something feature available on its desktop browser interface. How to activate this feature? Check out the explanation below.

1. Find this feature under your profile name, or on the tenth line of the Netflix homepage, or in the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.

2. Select 'Play Something' to find new films or series that have been curated according to your preferences.

3. Or, click 'Play Other Titles' until you find a show you're interested in.
