JAKARTA YouTube continues to improve its platform capabilities on Meta Quest, ranging from 4K resolution support, 3D video views in 360 degrees mode, to access to Shorts like other devices.
In the near future, YouTube will add a new feature created specifically for Meta headsets. The platform under Google will launch a viewing feature together so users can share shows without being in the same room.
Before this feature was introduced, YouTube users didn't have the ability to watch the same shows remotely. All users, with any device, should use a support app like Google Meet.
However, with this feature called Co-watch, users no longer need to use third-party applications to view interesting video shows on YouTube. As long as YouTube users have Quest, they can watch together.
"Now, you can relax and enjoy the experience with friends wherever they are in the world," Meta said in its announcement. " Hold a private viewing party in a fully immersive VR with friends and family."

The new Co-watch feature is released in beta or developer testing. It's not yet known when this feature will be released, but Meta has described some of the provisions of this feature, such as a limit to watching videos with seven other Quest users.
In addition, Co-watch users can only watch together in 2D mode. It is not yet known whether this platform will add 3D support for the Co-watch feature in the future. Especially for paid content, participants cannot watch if they don't pay.
To use this feature, users only need to update their YouTube app and search for the Co-watch icon in the app. Once tapping starts, the starting party can invite anyone. If the invitation is accepted, the invited party will immediately join.
