JAKARTA Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched Think Big Space, an educational laboratory that supports science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) lessons, first in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

This study room was established at the State Vocational High School (SMKN) 1 Karawang to explore STEAM through technical education and interactive cloud computing training. In building this Think Big Space, AWS collaborates with several non-profit partners.

The cloud technology company partners with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, the Indonesian Sagasity Foundation, and the Achievement of Junior Indonesia to support education in Indonesia. This laboratory helps students to solve challenges in the real world.

Just like Think Big Space, which is available outside Southeast Asia, this educational space utilizes cloud computing and various technologies that AWS develops. The hope is that this study room can encourage or foster youth interest in learning STEAM.

"AWS Think Big Space is expected to have a positive impact on society by providing a learning environment that stimulates students to explore futuristic technology such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and robotics," said AWS Indonesia Data Center Operations Manager Winu Adiarto.

Winu added that this technology can produce future IT leaders through their digital skills. In line with the Merdeka Learning initiative from the government, AWS wants to empower hundreds of thousands of people to be proficient in using the cloud next year.

At SMKN 1 Karawang, Think Big Space will offer a variety of STEAM-related sessions for the whole class, from grades 10 to 12. They will get training classes that include programming, AI, robotics, and automation systems.
