JAKARTA - After the launch of Google TV Streamer last month, the latest update for Chromecast with Google TV (September 2024) is now becoming available.

This STTL update, 240812,006 (from STTE,240615,007) increases Android security levels until September 2024 (formerly July 2024). This device still uses Android 12, and this change has not been recorded in Google's change log.

This update only measures 83.01 MB, smaller than last month's 143 MB update. As usual, Google includes bug fixes and performance improvements.

This is the seventh update for Chromecast with Google TV in the last ten months spanning February, March, April, May, August, September, and October, surpassing the number of updates in 2023.

However, so far, there has been no support for Home Control in Quick Settings. Google is expected to soon launch a major update this year that will bring Android 14 and the Home runtime feature that allows Chromecast with Google TV to function as a hub for Matter devices.

To update your device, open Settings > System > About > System update on your Chromecast.
