Replaced By Pixel Watch, Fitbit Stops Production Of Smart Watches

JAKARTA Since Google's recognition, the launch of smart watch Fitbits has been running very slowly. The last wearable device that Fitbit launched is Versa 4 and Sense 2. Both launched in 2022. Over the years, news emerged that Fitbit will stop making smartwatches or smartwatches and focus on simpler activity tracking tools. This news was finally confirmed by Google after the company released Pixel Watch 3 at the Made by Google event. Sandeep Waraich, Senior Director of Product Management Pixel Wearables, said that Fitbit will not produce smartwatches anymore. Going forward, Pixel Watch will be the successor as well as the successor to the smartwatch product of Fitbit. "Pixel Watch is the smartwatch part of our portfolio," Waraich said, quoted from Engadget. In addition to replacing Fitbit's watch with Pixel Watch, Waraich also confirmed that Fitbit will focus on minimally and long-lasting tracking tools.

According to Waraich, Fitbit subscribers prefer simple trackers like Inspire. The device is considered popular because of its non-trivial appearance and has better durability when compared to smartwatches in general. "Trackers are a device users clearly want because it is not striking," Waraich said. "They want a longer battery life, wanting a simple experience and we are very proud of our Inspire line." Over the next few years, the wearable team from Google will collaborate with Fitbit in creating the latest Pixel Watch lineup. Google will focus on machine learning and advanced models, while Fitbit will focus on data and signal capture.
