JAKARTA - In 2019, Google Maps for Android introduced a speedometer capable of showing how fast you drive on the road, and now this feature is present on the iPhone.
Google confirmed the launch of iOS and CarPlay to TechCrunch. Speedometers appear in the lower left corner as a circle when you navigate with a vehicle. These speed indicators will change color if you exceed the speed limit.
Google Maps also launched a global speed limit indicator for the road you're going through.
In terms of safety, Google says that this gauge is "only for the use of information" and that "external factors can cause Speedometer Maps to differ from your actual speed."

There is a shortcut that allows you to "turn on or off the speedometer by tapping the Speed Limit." Go to Maps Settings > Navigation > Display map > Show the speedometer to disable it completely.
This feature is seen on Google Maps for iOS with version 6.123.0. This server-side update has been rolled out to users in recent weeks. Unfortunately this Speedometer isn't available on Android Auto
