JAKARTA - In a terrible video, a humanoid robot is seen being hit by a human operator before breaking his own finger with a hammer. This robot also shows extraordinary joint flexibility by turning its body around like in the horror film "The Exorcist."

Although impressive, this creepy move makes some social media commentators call the robot "very scary." With a height of only 127 cm, the G1 Unitree may find it difficult to reach the top shelf of the cupboard, let alone destroy humans.

At the beginning of the video, this child-sized humanoid robot appears lying on the floor before rising with its flexible joints. Unitree emphasizes this flexibility by showing the robot curled up like an Android constructorist. Weighing only 35 kg, this G1 robot can be lifted and carried by humans.

In another video inspired by Boston Dynamics' unique presentation, the Unitree team also tortured this robot with kicks and punches in the chest. Despite being repeatedly attacked, the G1 managed to remain standing and resigned only slightly to maintain balance.

Some social media commentators were not impressed by this test and thought the robot's movement was strange and scary. Some even joked that this robot could take revenge if at some point artificial intelligence reached a singularity.

This robot also shows its resilience by carrying out tasks such as cooking and selling. Even so, it is still unclear what the main goal of this robot is, because its size is too small to replace humans in factory work.

With impressive power, the G1 could destroy walnuts with its bare hands, leaving some commentators worried about the potential harm it poses.

This is not the first time a robot created by Unitree has caused concern. The company was previously known as a four-legged robot, one of which was even equipped with a blazer.

Unitree has penetrated humanoid robots and the G1 is the second humanoid robot they released. This year, their H1 robot recorded a new speed record for humanoid machines at a speed of 11 km/h. G1, although slower, remains at an honorable speed of 7.2 km/hour.

At a price of $16,000 (around Rp257 million), the G1 is cheaper than the H1 which is priced at 900.000 (around Rp1.4 billion). In comparison, Elon Musk wants the humanoid robot Tesla, Optimus, to cost around 20.000 (around Rp. 322 million), even though the model has not yet been produced.
