The Latest Horror Film "Urang Bunian" Raises the Mystery Phenomenon from the Sumatran Forest

Djakarta - DHF Entertainment presents their latest horror film titled Urang Bunian. This film will raise the mystery phenomenon of creatures from the Sumatran region which is also known in several other areas.

The first trailer released on Monday, August 10, features an officer who travels to a place but experiences a mysterious incident. It turns out that they are dealing with Urang Bunian and trying to get out of the situation.

This film is played by Dimas Aditya, Adinda Thomas, Fauzan Nasrul, Ruth Marini, Naura Hakim, Uda Iro, Rendy F. Pratama, and others.

"I play the role of Captain Teddy, an officer who is on duty and comes home to meet his wife. In terms of character, we have discussed with Rendy (Herpy-director) to reflect the officer who is on duty and has a human side," said Dimas Aditya at the launch of the poster and trailer on Monday, August 10.

"He is also friends with Kevin who is involved in the journey to the return journey and finds strangeness. I have never played a soldier and I consulted with Rendy as a director and of course there is a little adjustment," he continued.

Johansyah Jumberan as the producer admitted that he was always interested in raising urban legends that came from Indonesia. Director Rendy Herpy brought the story idea of Urang Bunian because it was inspired by his hometown.

"Rendy came with a story from Sumatra and we took more to Minang. I myself have heard Urang Bunian which is from Sarawak, Sumatra, Kalimantan - all about Urang Bunian. Urang Bunian is a forest dweller and I am interested in raising this. With Saranjana and Kuyang who raised Kalimantan, this time we are raising urang bunian," explained Johansyah.

Rendy Herpy added, "I know DHF likes to make urban legend films so of course Jo is interested. We research first. It just so happens that I am a Sumatran so I know the myths. That is, I am happy to make this film answer my questions in childhood. I asked people there and they answered. So we research the community first. "

The film "Urang Bunian" will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting September 17, 2026.
