Google Launches Support Fund For Second Ukrainian Startups

JAKARTA - Since the war in Ukraine began, Google says it has donated more than US$45 million (Rp704 billion) in cash and US$7 million (Rp109 billion) in goods, as a form of humanitarian assistance to the people there.

Not only that, Google is also trying to use all their products to help people affected by the war, such as protecting against cyber attacks and fighting misinformation.

In March 2022, Google launched Ukraine's Google for Startups Support Fund, and has awarded $5 million in cash-free cash awards to 58 recipient Startups.

The startup backed by Ukraine's Support Fund has received continued funding of US$15.8 million (Rp247.5 billion), creating 100% revenue growth and significantly increasing employment despite their facing war and difficulties, said Senior Director, Google for Startup, Annieszka Hryniewicz-Bieniek, quoted Tuesday, February 20.

Now, Google has again announced Google's Support Fund for Ukraine's second US$10 million (Rp156.6 billion) startup, to allocate equity-free cash awards throughout 2024 and 2025.

Seperti dana pertama, startup terpilih yang berbasis di Ukraina akan diumumkan secara bergilir dan masing-masing akan menerima pendanaan non-dilutif hingga 100.000 dolar AS (Rp1,5 miliar), serta bantuan Google yang berkelanjutan, dukungan produk, dan kredit Cloud hingga 300.000 dolar AS (Rp4.69 miliar).

Registration will open later this year. Through this support, Google hopes to help Ukrainian entrepreneurs maintain and develop their businesses, strengthen communities and build a foundation for postwar economic recovery.
