JAKARTA - A package delivery company in the UK has disabled the artificial intelligence (AI) function in its online chat system after a frustrated user managed to persuade the system to compose poetry about how bad the company's customer service is.

"There was once a chatbot called DPD, which was useless in providing assistance," read the poem produced when Ashley total gave up trying to get a customer service phone number and asking chatbots to write poetry about poor chatbot services.

"DPD is a waste of time, and a customer's nightmare," the bot continued before concluding. "One day, the DPD is finally closed and everyone is delighted. Finally they can get the help they need, From real people who know what they're doing."

He said initially he asked the bot to give him a joke after failing to get information about the status of a package, and when the bot did, he asked the bot to write a poem about the failure of its automated customer service. He also encouraged bots to say harsh words.

tip told ITV television station he still hasn't received the package. "I think they might take the package hostage now. I won't blame them," he said. "It was completely my fault."

The UK DPD said they had used AI elements in their chat systems successfully for several years along with human customer services, but the error occurred after the system update.

"The AI element was immediately deactivated and is currently being updated," the company's statement reported by ITV said.
