JAKARTA - On Monday, December 11, TikTok finally announced that they were officially cooperating with GoTo as its strategic partner to encourage the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.
"Today, we are pleased to announce the strategic partnership between Tik Tok and GoTo in order to encourage the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia as a whole," TikTok wrote in a statement.
Along with National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) which will take place on December 12, TikTok's first partnership and GoTo will present the Buy Local' campaign.
"Starting Monday, December 11, 2023 at 01:00 WIB, Seller can access and manage products at the Seller Center," the company added.

Previously, TikTok Shop was officially closed by the Indonesian government on October 4. The reason is, based on Permendag Number 31 of 2023 which prohibits social media from playing a double role as e-commerce.
As part of this strategic partnership, the Tokopedia and TikTok Shop Indonesia businesses will be combined under PT Tokopedia, where TikTok will have control over PT Tokopedia.
"TikTok will invest more than 1.5 billion US dollars, as a long-term commitment to investing in supporting Tokopedia's operations, without further dilution on GoTo's ownership in Tokopedia," the company said.
