JAKARTA Sunbird, the iMessage app for Android devices, announced that it will temporarily close the app due to user privacy and security concerns.

This doesn't seem so surprising because Sunbird is a partner of Nothing Chats, an iMessage application specifically for Nothing Phone (2). The Platform Nothing Chats also had a similar problem until its launch had to be withdrawn.

Some time ago, it was revealed that Nothing Chats did not use message encryption and fileend-to-endchat. In fact, the two companies had voiced that the Nothing Chats application was safe with the encryption system locked.

Apparently, Sunbird did the same. From the 9to5google report, the application, which was launched at the end of 2022, makes user data easy to access because data is stored on outside servers.

Regarding this issue, Sunbird admitted that they would investigate privacy concerns on their platform. Therefore, they will temporarily stop using the app and turn off the Sunbird media.

"Dear Sunbird users. We have decided to temporarily suspend the use of Sunbird while we investigate security issues. We will let you know when we are ready to continue," Sunbird wrote.

This announcement was only made to Sunbird users, while the site is still making claims about encryption-to-end. The Sunbird application is also inaccessible and cannot be downloaded via the Google Play Store.
