NASA's SmallSat Mars Will Be The First Mission Of New Glenn Blue Origin

JAKARTA The United States (NASA) Aeronautics and Space Agency hopes that the Mars Small Satellite (SmallSat) can be launched according to the schedule set with the New Glenn rocket.

From theSpacenews report, NASA Launch Service Director Bradley Smith, who was present at the NASA Human Exploration and Operations Committee meeting on November 20, said he was impatient with the launch of SmallSat and New Glenn.

The satellites and rockets in the Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers (ESCAPADE) mission are scheduled to launch next year, to be precise in August according to a mission presentation from NASA some time ago.

In addition to expecting the right launch time, Smith hopes the ESCAPADE mission can be the first launch of the New Glenn. Smith said that, "This is the first highly ambitious launch of the New Glenn and we really appreciate this partnership."

In fact, NASA's refined pressure is fairly risky. We don't know if Blue Origin can prepare its rocket on time for launch because the development of the rocket has been behind for several years.

New Glenn was seen conducting the last test last September. Blue Origin has not provided an update on the progress of the rocket they are developing.

NASA built an ESPACADE launch contract with New Glenn in February. The value of this contract is reported to have reached 20 million US dollars or around Rp. 309 billion.

NASA plans to launch an ESCAPADE to study the magnetosphere of Mars. SmallSat will be used to study solar wind energy transfer through the hybrid magnetosphere of Mars.
