JAKARTA - The World Health Organization (WHO) asks for caution in using artificial intelligence (AI) in public health services. They, said that data used by AI to make decisions can contain bias or misuse.

Reuters reported, WHO expressed their enthusiasm for AI potential, but had concerns about how AI would be used to improve access to health information, as a decision-making support tool, and to improve diagnostic care.

The WHO stated in their statement that data used to train AI can contain bias and produce misleading or inaccurate information, and these models can be misused to spread disinformation.

"It is important to evaluate the risk of using large language model generation tools (LLM), such as ChatGPT, to protect and improve human welfare and protect public health," the UN Health Organization said in a statement.

This warning note comes as artificial intelligence applications are becoming increasingly popular, highlighting a technology that can change the way businesses and society operate.
