JAKARTA - Since TikTok started being loved by people all over the world, many other platforms have also launched TikTok-style short video feeds, such as Meta with Reel, and YouTube with Shorts.

Not wanting to be left out, after testing it last year, Spotify will now start rolling out a new design on its platform's home screen feed, which contains short video previews of personalized song recommendations for each user.

"As shared during Stream On, previews create a new way to sample and discover anything you might like, all on your Home screen. And they're building on the custom feeds for Music, Podcasts & Shows, and Audiobooks that we introduced last year, " wrote Spotify in its announcement, quoted Thursday, March 9.

So when it launches later, at the top of your music, podcasts, and Audiobooks feeds, you'll have the ability to scroll through your new feed, where Spotify will show you audio or video clips for you to preview.

For podcasts, real-time transcription lets you easily preview episodes or chapters even with the sound off. Video podcast previews let you watch and listen to conversations.

After previewing, you can save, download, or maybe just share the content by simply tapping the Plus (+) icon to save your recommendations to your Episodes or your Library.

Also, if you want to listen to it in its entirety, you can also play it from the beginning by pressing Play to hear the track, album, playlist or episode from the beginning. For podcasts, tap "continue listening" to play the rest of the preview from the beginning.

"Spotify was the first platform to enable truly seamless preview across music, podcasts, and audiobooks—and now it's rolling out to Premium and Free users globally on iOS and Android," the music streaming platform continued.

Music and podcast previews are now available in all markets where podcasts are available globally. Meanwhile, the new audiobook preview is available in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
