JAKARTA - After weeks of testing, OpenAI finally launched a paid chatbot version, ChatGPT Plus, of course, along with new features.

While many people can still use the free version of the chatbot, of course, there are some superior features on the ChatGPT Plus plan.

OpenAI states, the subscription plan gives users access to ChatGPT Plus during peak times, faster response times, priority access to new features and improvements.

This is because, during testing of the free version of ChatGPT, many users complained that the tool had a slow response.

However, to enjoy fast access and other premium features, users will be charged US$20, equivalent to Rp.298 thousand per month.

"We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription price, we can help support the availability of free access to as many people as possible," said OpenAI in a blog upload, quoted Thursday, February 2.

ChatGPT Plus is only available to customers in the United States in a trial version, and they'll begin the process of inviting people from the waitlist over the coming weeks.

The startup also plans to expand access and support to additional countries and territories soon.

Apart from that, there is also a separate waiting list for another offering, OpenAI plans to launch specifically for developers called ChatGPT API.

The company added that they are actively exploring options for low-cost packages, business packages, and data packages which will be available more in the future.
