JAKARTA - Towards the turn of 2023, many social media platforms provide the Recap feature, to collect posts from the past year, as well as Instagram.

After being preceded by Twitter, YouTube, and Spotify, Meta finally released Recap 2022 for Instagram Reels.

The social network announced that it is launching a new Reels template that will allow users to create their own 2022 Recaps to share with their friends and followers.

Users can now create 2022 Recaps and select up to 12 photos to become Reels by selecting narrated templates from artist and producer Bad Bunny, DJ & DJ Khaled, rapper and producer Badshah or Stranger Things star Priah Ferguson.

To create a 2022 Recap Reels, you will find a request to “create your new 2022 recap reel” on the app homepage, which will then redirect you to the new template. Or, you can go to the Reels tab to choose a 2022 recap template to get started.

If we look back at 2021, Instagram users have to create their own year-end recap feature, where they have to post the nine photos they've uploaded during that one year.

But last year, for him Meta has launched "Year in Review" which allows users to have up to 10 stories to share with their followers. This year, Instagram is offering a new way to share stories from the past year through Recap 2022.

The rollout of this feature comes as year-end recaps are becoming more and more popular. The applications that have already launched it are Spotify and Twitter with Spotify/Twitter Wrapped. Then followed by Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Reddit.
