JAKARTA - When iOS 16 was launched, Apple made many big changes to the lock screen in its latest iOS, one of which is a more personalized Lock Screen display.

Google on Wednesday, October 19 has finally become part of the lock screen innovation by introducing a new YouTube Music widget in iOS 16.

The Recently Played widget can now be added to the user's lock screen to access recently played songs, albums, playlists or videos.

"With our new YouTube Home Screen widget, just tap to watch Short Videos or new videos from your favorite creators in the YouTube app," Google wrote on its blog.

Several Twitter users have also shared the look of the new YouTube Music widget. There is a 2x1 widget that displays the name of the song, album, artist, playlist or radio song.

Then, there is also a 1x1 widget that displays the background app logo and song name similar to the YouTube Music homescreen widget. With this widget user can start audio with just one tap.

This YouTube Music Lock Screen Widget for iOS 16 was introduced with version 5.29, joining Chrome, Google Drive, Gmail, News, Maps and Search.

To give this Google widget a try, the first thing you should know is to make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS and your Google apps are up to date. Then, press and hold on the Lock Screen or Home Screen to start customizing the widget.
