JAKARTA - The Rocket Racing Bali team announced the recruitment of racer Rizal Sungkar to navigate the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia competition which began at the Shanghai International Circuit in March next year.

In addition to signing Rizal Sungkar, the management of Rocket Racing Bali also signed a new Porsche GT4 sports car purchase contract in preparation for the 2025 Asian Porsche Carrera Cup which will also take place at the Mandalika Circuit in August next year.

"Balinese Pocket Racing has a big agenda to make motorcyclesport events more competitive and attractive in Mandalika. For this reason, we have just signed a new Porsche GT4 car purchase contract," said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rocket Racing Bali, Purwo Handoko as reported by Antara on Sunday, October 13.

The signing of the GT4 contract was attended by Senior Manager & Sales Marketing Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Hari Kalsia, along with racers Aldio Oekon and Rizal Sungkar who had just joined Rocket Racing Bali.

Purwo explained that Rocket Racing will make the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Mandalika a first step for them before competing in Asian competitions.

"I thank Bagoes Hermanto as Managing Director of Porsche Speed Challenge Indonesia who initiated this speed challenge. I am committed to participating optimally in this racing event," added Purwo.

Managing Director of Porsche Speed Challenge Indonesia Bagoes Hermanto also considered that the Porsche Speed Challenge competition became increasingly attractive thanks to the participation of the Rocket Racing Bali racing team, which was strengthened by 27-year-old racer Aldio Oekon from Jakarta.

"The creativity and commitment of Rocket Racing Bali in participating in the Porsche Speed Challenge event is extraordinary. This is certainly very interesting and improves the quality of the competition," said Bagoes.

On Sunday, Bali's Sport Super Car Rocket Racing team racer Aldio Oekon won the second podium in the Porsche Sprint Challenge - Mandalika Festival of Speed second session. The 27-year-old racer from Jakarta won the second fastest position, behind Daffa Ardiansyah Boediharjo from Rizky Motorsport, followed by Luckas Dwinanda from Motorsport's Engineplus.

In the third race which was held the day before, Aldio finished the race in third place. The successive podium gain made Aldio believe he could repeat his achievements as a season champion like the 2023 season.
