JAKARTA – The International Youth Championship (IYC) tournament will be held April 13-19 2022 after being delayed due to COVID-19. This championship will be a series of Soft Launching Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
The IYC event is a continuation of the International Youth Cup event which in 2019 had been held in Bali. For this year, Barcelona U-18 and Atletico Madrid U-18 will enliven the IYC event with the local Bali United U-18 team and Indonesia All-Star U20.
"Hopefully this international-scale activation can be a sign that Jakarta is ready to host international events again", said Director of the Jakarta Experience Board (JXB), Novita Dewi, in a press statement received by VOI.
The IYC event and the Soft Launching of JIS Malam #StadionKita are a series of events aimed at introducing the Jakarta International Stadium as a new symbol of collaboration, inclusiveness, sustainable urban regeneration, and the economic revival of the city of Jakarta.
Soft Launching JIS Malam #StadionKita with International Youth Championship will be the first activation at Jakarta International
Stadium. The stadium which is managed by Jakarta Properti (Jakpro) is a FIFA standard stadium with a capacity of 82,000 seats.
Novita said that the Soft Launching of JIS Malam #StadionKita is a good signal for the tourism industry. The pandemic situation in Jakarta, which is getting better, also supports this activity as well as being a sign that Jakarta is ready to host international events again.
