JAKARTA - Ukraine and Russia are again carrying out exchanges of prisoners of war. Meanwhile, AKyiv sent 189 former prisoners home.
President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the United Arab Emirates and other partners who facilitated the exchange.
"The return of our citizens from Russia has always been good news for each of us. And today is one of those days: our team managed to bring home 189 Ukrainians," Zelensky said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported that each party had released 150 prisoners of war. There has been no explanation regarding the difference in the number reported.

Zelensky said the returning Ukrainians included soldiers, deputies, and officers from different frontline areas as well as two civilians arrested at Mariupol's southern port which was taken over by Russian troops in 2022.
