Calls Match Against Liverpool Is Not Easy, Antonio Conte: You Have To Be Ready To Suffer

JAKARTA - Entertaining Liverpool at home, Tottenham Hotspur could only finish the match with a 2-2 draw. Antonio Conte the coach reveals the meeting with Liverpool is not easy.

"Playing against Liverpool is not easy. You have to be prepared to suffer," Conte was quoted as saying on Tottenham's official website.

In the 18th week of the 2021/2022 Premier League match on Sunday, 19 December night, Tottenham as the host failed to pocket three points at their own headquarters. Even though when they appeared at Selhurst Park Stadium, The Lilywhites had opened the scoring first through Hary Kane in the 13th minute.

Successfully opening the tap, Tottenham were even conceded by Liverpool's two goals through Diogo Jota and Robertson to make the advantage turn 2-1 for the visitors.

Luckily before the referee blew the long whistle, the hosts could score one goal through Son Heung-min's execution at the end of the match which made the score end in a 2-2 draw.

Regarding his team having to settle for sharing points, Conte said the result was a pretty good achievement. Considering their opponent this time is Liverpool, which he considers one of the best teams in the world.

"I think taking a point against Liverpool is good. We are talking about one of the best teams in the world. They have created something special over the years," Conte continued.

Although grateful for one point in this match, Conte still asked his team to maintain their mentality on the field. This is because he remembers that the 2021/2022 Premier League competition is still long.

"Good points but if we want to improve our mentality we have to start thinking that we have to be disappointed because we only got one point."
