JAKARTA - The Indonesian badminton national team has submitted four representatives to the 2021 BWF World Tour Finals (WTF) year-end tournament which will take place in Bali on December 1-5 as part of the Indonesia Badminton Festivals tour.
The four representatives of Red and White are Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu (women's doubles), Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan (men's doubles), and Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti (mixed doubles).
Pramudya, as a player who is joining the WTF for the first time, said he was happy to have the opportunity to play in this prestigious event later this year.
"What is certain is that we are happy to be included in the WTF, this is an opportunity for us and we will try our best to take advantage of this opportunity," said Pramudya as quoted from Antara, Monday, November 29.
Pramudya/Yeremia secured their place in WTF 2021 thanks to Kevin/Marcus' victory over Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, in the semifinals on Saturday.
With Rankireddy/Shetty stopped in the last four, the men's doubles from India is in seventh place with 31,610 points, while Pramudya/Yeremia pocketed 31,820 points in sixth place.
"Thank you very much for Koh Sinyo (Marcus) and Mas Kevin," said Pramudya briefly about the role of the Minions in their participation in WTF 2021.
