JAKARTA - After rumors related to the second car model from Xiaomi, a third model emerged from the Chinese technology giant who also took part in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment.
Citing from the CNevpost page, based on a report from local media 21jingji, it stated that the third car model from Xiaomi will fill the existing range electric vehicle (EREV) market.
"The third model of the Xiaomi EV will be the EREV and the second model of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)," the report read.
Later, the EREV model will target the market share of the families and launch 2026. Based on the report, Xiaomi has high expectations of the EREV.
"Xiaomi has high expectations of the EREV, which has issued two iteration proposals at the pre-research stage," the report said, citing sources close to Xiaomi familiar with the matter.

Xiaomi is also rumored to be disclosing some information about a new model in July, at a major event that the company will hold.
Reports from local media also suggest that Xiaomi's second model will be an all-electric SUV with the internal code name Lemang, aimed at competing with Tesla Model Y launched in the first half of 2025.
"EREV's model, codenamed Kunlun, will rival Li Auto and will launch in 2026," the report said.
Compared to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), the EREV version with plug-in hybrid (PHEVs) vehicles is seen as free of concerns about range, and therefore more accepted by average consumers, thus giving them more space in the market.
Currently, the main player in the segment is Li Auto who recorded significant growth throughout 2023, and indicated that the EREV was accepted in China.
Some brands also took part, such as Neta Auto, and Leapmotor also offered EREV, all of which initially only offered BEV.
