Officially Launching the Team, This is What PSS Sleman is Carrying

SLEMAN - PSS Sleman officially launched the squad that will sail the 2026/2027 Super League competition. The launch of the team, jersey, and sponsors took place at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Saturday, August 8, 2026 afternoon WIB.

PSS, which returned to the highest class after becoming runner-up in the Championship last season, was the first to launch the team. This launch marks the readiness of the Super Elang Jawa to welcome the new season which will start on September 4, 2026.

The series of PSS launch events began with the introduction of sponsors who will support the club's journey throughout the 2026/2027 season. A total of 10 sponsors were introduced, namely Amman Mineral, Medco Energi, Ithaca Resources, Indofood, Hara Chicken, JIH Yogyakarta Hospital, Biznet, DOSS Camera & Gadget, and Ajeg Furniture Home & Decor.

Entering the jersey launch agenda at around 16.00 WIB, a number of PSS players appeared in the middle of the field to introduce the uniform that will become the team's identity throughout the season. The green home jersey was introduced by Dominikus Dion.

The green color is still maintained as the main identity of PSS and at the same time brings back the memory of the club's success in winning a promotion ticket to the highest echelon of Indonesian football.

Meanwhile, the white away jersey is worn by Hiromu Tanaka. PSS also prepared a third jersey in maroon red which was introduced by foreign player Melvyn Lorenzen.

Not only the players' uniforms, three goalkeeper jersey designs were also introduced. Safaat Romadhona appeared in a light blue jersey, Pedro Caracoci wore purple, while Ega Rizky Pramana used a yellow jersey. This season, PSS wears Scorelab jerseys, which are the club's in-house brand.

The chairman of the team launch committee, Vita Subiyakti, said the use of the internal brand was part of the club's efforts to maximize resources. "Scorelab is indeed our in-house brand. So we are indeed maximizing internal resources," said Vita.

According to Vita, the big concept of the team's launch this season is also inseparable from PSS's journey which has passed 50 years. The theme carried is the sustainability of the club's journey, from 50 years to an unbroken journey in the future.

The spirit of regeneration is also an important part of the launch concept. PSS involves players from the academy as a symbol of the continuity of generations, including young players who are projected to be part of the club's future.

Vita said the sunflower theme used in the launch concept symbolized new hope in welcoming the new season of competition. "If the philosophy is a new hope, a new day, we will start the league. That's why we use the sunflower theme. New hope," he said.

After the jersey was introduced, the peak event continued with the launch of the PSS Sleman squad. A total of 35 players were introduced one by one in the middle of the Maguwoharjo Stadium with the accompaniment of an orchestra. The players then gathered and formed a circle in the middle of the field, creating a different atmosphere in the team launch agenda.

Not only presenting a number of new players, this season PSS also strengthened the team structure, ranging from the composition of players, coaching staff, to team management. This is part of an effort to build a more solid foundation in facing competition.

A total of 10 new players officially joined to strengthen the PSS Sleman squad. The presence of these players is part of the team's need to build a balanced composition in every line while providing more alternatives for the coaching staff throughout the season.

PSS coach Pieter Huistra admitted that he enjoyed the atmosphere of the squad launch. According to him, this kind of agenda is an important momentum to introduce new players as well as welcoming the new competition season.

"It's always fun to introduce players, new players, and open a new season," said Huistra.
