Cianjur - The Cianjur Regency Disaster Management Agency, West Java, has deployed 25 officers and volunteers to help put out a fire that burned about 1 hectare of land in the Gunung Gede area with joint officers from various elements.

The Field Coordinator of the Cianjur BPBD, Herman, when contacted, said that dozens of officers and volunteers were sent to the fire point which occurred in the Wadon Crater area of Mount Gede and two people were alerted at the joint team post in Cibodas area.

The officers who were sent down will join dozens of other personnel from the TNI/Polri, nature lovers, Fire Department and other elements involved in extinguishing the fire that burned land in the Gunung Gede area.

"The officers who were sent down already have enough experience and expertise in handling emergency situations with qualified physical conditions because the journey to the location is about 9 kilometers with terrain that requires excellent physical condition.

Cianjur BPBD personnel who participated in handling the fire on Mount Gede were equipped with various equipment such as hoes, machetes, logistics, manual fire extinguishing equipment, and plastic to carry water.

Until now, dozens of joint officers from the National Police/TNI, Volunteers, Damkar, and other parties are still continuing to handle it, but his party has not received a definitive report on how much land has burned because there is no cell phone signal while on the mountain peak.

"We are still waiting for a report from the officers who went out, for temporary information, the fire hit an area of 1 hectare around the crater," he said.

As reported, the fire again burned the Gunung Gede area, specifically around the crater, where the cause is still under investigation, even before about 3 hectares of land in the Suryakancana Square area of Gunung Gede also experienced the same thing.

The fire was successfully extinguished after 115 joint officers and volunteers were lowered, so that the fire did not spread to the perennial flower plants, where the cause of the fire in the square, which is usually used for camping due to a climber's stove exploding.
