SEMARANG - The Provincial Government of Central Java has prepared a scheme to accelerate the handling of extreme poverty in five districts, namely Banyumas, Banjarnegara, Brebes, Pemalang, and Kebumen.
"We are also mapping to the lowest level to take accelerated steps in the next three months," said Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo in Semarang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 29.
The preparation of the poverty alleviation acceleration scheme in five districts will be preceded by verification and validation of poor population data in coordination with the central government, in this case, the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The governor believes that verification and validation of poor population data can be carried out quickly.
"I think it can be done very quickly when all sectors are consolidated to concentrate on that group," he said.

He said that local governments must provide accurate data to support the preparation of targeted poverty alleviation programs.
"Earlier I asked the regional government to calculate from the details, one, in the five priority districts to map each name, where the address is, what conditions are like today, and what kind of assistance has been received," said the Governor.
"If we then want to take action for the next three months, what rescue must be done to them so that they are eradicated (from poverty) quickly," he added.
Ganjar stated that efforts to tackle poverty that could be completed within three months include physical development, such as repairing uninhabitable houses and providing latrines, electricity, and clean water sources.
Food assistance to increase the nutritional intake of the poor, he said, could also be distributed quickly.
"When it comes to nutritional intake, how much protein is eaten every day, with assistance it can be given quickly," he said.
"But it will be a bit difficult if we talk about education. If they enter a low education score such as not graduating from elementary school, not graduating from junior high school, then they will be in a low category, it cannot be achieved within three months," said the Governor of Central Java.
