JAKARTA - The Golkar Party has not announced the name of the replacement for Azis Syamsuddin as chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) after being named a suspect and detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Including, the change between time (PAW).

Chairman of the Legal and Human Rights Body of the Golkar Party, Supriansa, explained that the candidate for deputy chairman of the DPR to replace Azis was the right of General Chair Airlangga Hartarto.

"We'll just have to wait tomorrow, who is proposed by the general chairman," Supriansa said, Sunday, September 26.

Nevertheless, Supriansa ensured that the person who replaced Azis Syamsuddin as chairman of the DPR was the best cadre of the Golkar Party.

"Whoever it is, it is best for Golkar to become the deputy chairman of the DPR to replace the US position," said the member of Commission III.

It is known that Azis Syamsuddin has sent a letter of resignation to the Golkar Party DPP from his position as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).

As a result of the legal case, Azis is threatened with being removed as a member of the DPR RI by means of an interim replacement (PAW). If he becomes a member of the PAW, then the seat of Azis as a member of the DPR RI from the Lampung II Dapil is likely to be occupied by Riswan Tony DK who got the third vote.

Riswan Tony said the change was already regulated by law. Where the next largest vote has the right to replace the member who is permanently absent.

"According to the law, the next largest vote has the right to replace members who are permanently absent," said Riswan, Saturday, September 25.

However, there has been no leak of the name of the candidate for deputy chairman of the DPR to replace Azis Syamsuddin.
