Alluding To The COVID-19 Vaccination Inequality, Jokowi At The UN General Assembly: No One Is Safe Until Everyone Is

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded that no one was safe until all experienced it while struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed to mention the inequality of vaccination in a number of countries at the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).

"The ability and speed between countries to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccination, is very lame. Even though in handling the pandemic, no one is safe for everyone," said Jokowi, quoted from his official Instagram account, Thursday, September 23.

According to him, all nations without exception must be able to give hope that the pandemic will be resolved quickly, fairly, and evenly.

In a speech he delivered online from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, the former governor of DKI Jakarta also touched on a number of things, such as global economic recovery, climate resilience, and peace in diversity.

Regarding the global economic recovery, Jokowi said this could be done if the COVID-19 pandemic was under control and all countries worked together to help each other.

Regarding climate resilience, Jokowi said that Indonesia has a commitment to low-carbon development and green technology.

Finally, he said Indonesia continues to ask all countries to seriously fight actions that disrupt peace and diversity.

"I call on the world to remain serious against intolerance, conflict, terrorism, and war," he concluded.
