President Trump Frustrated Senior Officials Failed to Reach an Agreement on the War Strategy in Iran

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump is reportedly growing frustrated that his senior aides and allies cannot reach an agreement on a strategy for the war against Iran, NBC News reports.

President Trump reportedly "exploded" during a recent meeting with his national security officials and "shouted obscenities," NBC reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter, as reported by Al Arabiya (30/7).

President Trump's growing frustration stems from his team and allies' inability to agree on the war's objectives, whether it's related to the nuclear threat, the Strait of Hormuz, or Iran's missile and drone programs, the report added.

"The president is very upset," a Trump ally said.

"I don't think he believes it will be this difficult to get Iran to agree to a deal," he continued.

The source added that "there is no real strategy on how long or what they have to do to reach the end point."

The Iranian war began on February 28 when the US and Israel attacked Iran and Tehran retaliated with counterattacks against Israel and the Gulf countries.

On Wednesday, President Trump said the US military would attack Iran "hard" after a missile attack on a US base in Jordan, Fox News reported.

The sudden escalation in the US war against Iran, which has now been going on for five months, came after Trump had previously insisted on finding a solution through negotiations.

The US military said in a statement on Thursday that it had completed its latest wave of strikes against Iran, which lasted two hours and hit dozens of targets, with Washington calling the attack a "strong response" to Iranian missiles launched at US forces in the Middle East the day before.
