Minister Of Health Budi: President Jokowi Asks For Care To Protect Connections To Similar Applications Abroad

JAKARTA - Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hoped that the PeduliLindung application could be connected to similar applications from abroad.

This aims to facilitate the implementation of health protocols between countries.

"Mr. President has given directions so that if possible this application is connected, connected with other equivalent applications abroad to facilitate the implementation of health protocols for cross-country", Budi said in an online press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, September 20.

Meanwhile, for domestic use, on Sunday, September 19, Budi said 8 million people had checked in or entered public places by accessing barcodes.

As for the site access, he said, reached 40 million times. "So in a day now the PeduliLindung application has been accessed more than 50 million times. Both through the application and the website", said the former Deputy Minister of SOEs.

Budi admits PeduliLindung is still far from perfect because it needs a lot of improvement in terms of security and performance. However, this application is considered to be able to show that information and technology-based health protocols can be carried out in the country.

"We admit that there are still many improvements. The Coordinating Minister also always reminds us from the security side, from the performance side, from the function side we have to improve", he said.

"But for one national health application, which has just been launched in less than two months, the PeduliLindung application has indeed been proven to be able to build infrastructure for implementing health protocols based on information and technology", he concluded.
