Novel Baswedan Et Al Reportedly Will Be 'Kicked Out' Of KPK On October 1, Firli Bahuri: We Will Explain To The Public

JAKARTA - The news of the dismissal of 57 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who did not pass the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) on October 1 is circulating.

Dozens of these employees are those who were declared by the KPK leadership that they could not be saved after failing to pass the TWK. Then those who refuse to take part in state defense education and national insight.

In response to this, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri was reluctant to answer further. He only said that there would be a time when the KPK would explain to the public about the fate of dozens of its employees.

"There will be time for the KPK to explain to the public", Firli told reporters, Wednesday, September 15.

It is not clear when this explanation was delivered by the KPK. However, Firli asked the public not to speculate because the anti-corruption commission is currently focusing on preparing the inauguration of 18 of its employees to become State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

"This afternoon we will inaugurate and take the oath of 18 employees first", said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

The inauguration ceremony will be held this afternoon. This inauguration is based on the transition of the status of KPK employees to ASN according to the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.

Later, these dozens of employees will return to work in their respective work units. They will move to strengthen the eradication of corruption.

For information, as many as 75 KPK employees were initially declared unsuccessful or did not meet the requirements in the TWK assessment process as a condition for changing employee status. Of this number, 24 of them can be trained, although recently only 18 have participated in the training for State Defense and National Insight.

So the total number of employees who are considered unable to be trained and do not want to carry out training because their request for clarity on the results of the TWK has not been given is 56 people.

As for those who are threatened with no longer being able to work at the KPK because they do not pass the TWK and are considered no longer able to be fostered through state defense education and national insight, among them are senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan and Ambarita Damanik, Chair of the KPK Employee Forum Yudi Purnomo, KPK investigator Harun Al-Karmin.
