Appears In The Indictment Of The Bribery Case Of Former KPK Investigator, Azis Syamsuddin Is In Self-isolation

JAKARTA - The Chief Justice of the Golkar Party, Adies Kadir, confirmed the news that Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin, was undergoing self-isolation (isoman).

"As far as I know, according to the information we have heard, we are currently self-isolating," said Adies at the DPR building, Tuesday, September 14.

Azis Syamsuddin's name is included in the bribery indictment of buying and selling positions in Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra. It was stated that Azis was suspected of giving money to KPK investigators amounting to Rp3.09 billion so that his colleague would be free from the case.

Responding to the case, Adies said that his party upholds the presumption of innocence. Golkar is still waiting for developments that are currently being handled by the KPK

In fact, Adies admitted that he is still communicating with Azis, who is also the deputy chairman of Golkar to this day.

"Communication continues, I'm still in contact with him, there's no problem because he's the deputy chairman of the Golkar party. We're still communicating asking questions related to party affairs," said the deputy chairman of Commission III of the DPR.

"So we will see developments, and there are none yet, so we respect his rights, which of course are the same in the eyes of the law," he continued.

Regarding Azis' legal status in the future, Adies said, the Golkar Party does not want to make a decision before there is a legal process with permanent force. According to him, currently, Azis is still the Deputy Speaker of the DPR and Deputy General Chair of the Golkar Party.

"Golkar doesn't want to make assumptions. We'll just have to wait. We always respect the applicable principles. As long as it's not legally enforceable, it means the person concerned and still has legal rights. chairman of the Golkar Party DPP and is still the deputy chairman of the DPR," said Adies.
