Anies Appoints Former Trade Minister Thomas Lembong As Ancol Commissioner

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan appointed Thomas Lembong as President Commissioner of the BUMD PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. This was decided at the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) today.

Thomas Lembong is a former Minister of Trade with a term of office from 2015-2016 and former Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) from 2016-2019.

Plt. Head of the DKI BUMD Development Agency (BP BUMD), Riyadi said, the appointment of Thomas Lembong as President Commissioner cannot be separated from Ancol's need for a wide network for business development investment and also his competence from the position he has held.

"This is a form of refreshment and regeneration of leadership, and it is common in a company or agency. Either because of promotions or rotations, in line with the demands and developments of the company", said Riyadi in his statement, Tuesday, August 31.

Riyadi said Thomas has also served for more than 20 years in the investment banking and hedge fund industry, including Morgan Stanley and Farallon Capital LLC.

"In addition to his career journey, Thomas is also an alumnus of Harvard University whose knowledge is expected to be useful for the sustainability of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol", said Riyadi.

Riyadi expressed his gratitude for the work and contributions to the officials who ended their term of office well, as well as the dedication and contributions are given during their tenure as Directors and Commissioners.

"To the new Directors and Commissioners, we congratulate you on joining and happy working. We hope that the new Board of Directors and Commissioners at PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol can carry out their duties in improving the performance and progress of the company, as well as developing the company's business in the future", he explained.

It is known that Thomas is currently replacing Rene Suhardono as the former President Commissioner of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. Rene currently serves as the President Director of BUMD Academy.

The members who have ended their term of office are as follows:

1. Mr. Rene Suhardono from the position of President Commissioner;

2. Mr. Hari Sundjojo from the position of Director of Finance;

3. Mr. Bertho DP Asmanto from the position of Property Director; and

4. Mr. Agus Sudarno from the position of Director of Operations.

Subsequently, appointed the Company's Directors and Commissioners as follows:

1. Mr. Thomas Lembong as President Commissioner;

2. Mr. Suparno as Director of the company;

3. Mr. Space Wing as Director of the company; and

4. Mr. Budi Santosa as Director of the company.
