Alleged Waste Fund Corruption, Prosecutors Detain Head Of DLHP Ambon City

AMBON – Three suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Ambon City Government's Environment and Waste Service (DLHP) have been secured by officers in two different locations. This was conveyed by the Head of the Ambon District Attorney, Dian Frits Nalle.

"Suspect IL is placed in the Nania Women's Prison, while suspects MYT and RSM are being held at the Waiheru State Detention Center in Ambon with a detention period of 20 days," said Head of District Attorney, quoting Antara, Saturday, August 28.

According to him, the three suspects have been detained after being questioned as suspects by investigators, where each suspect was asked 53 questions.

Suspect LI is the Head of the Ambon City DLHP, then RMS from the private sector as the owner of one of the gas stations in Ambon City who helped with corruption, and MYT as commitment making official (CMO) at the Ambon City DLHP.

"In investigating this case, we have obtained the results of an audit of state financial losses from BPKP RI Representatives of Maluku Province in the amount of Rp3.6 billion," explained the Head of District Attorney.

The alleged articles for these three suspects are Article 2 paragraph (1) Article 3 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of criminal acts of corruption.

"While we are concentrating on the 2019 fiscal year, the state's financial losses reached Rp3.6 billion, while for the 2020 budget year, we will only follow up," he said.

Regarding the possibility of additional suspects, in this case, the Head of District Attorney said that for the time being there were three suspects based on the statements of witnesses and the results of the audit.

"Later we will see the facts at the trial, and if there are other developments," explained Head of District Attorney.
