JAKARTA - Anita, a project staff victim of extortion from an unscrupulous member of a mass organization in Kembangan, admitted that she was forced to go viral. The reason, Anita was bored was because the perpetrators asked for money amounting to IDR 5 million for four times, citing security rations.

The woman who works as a staff in one of the development projects in the Joglo area, Kembangan, said that she deliberately recorded the action on her cellphone and went viral.

Because according to Anita, the man who claims to be from a mass organization often takes millions of rupiahs in building projects.

"He came here asking for money. Then he allotted IDR 5 million a month", said Anita when met by reporters at the scene, Thursday, August 26.

Anita said her company never heeded the request. Because when asked to the head of the local RT (Neighborhood Association), the RT did not know the organization in question.

Although there was no violence by the man, the man was often threatened every time he came to a building project. In addition, the perpetrators also requested coercion.

"It's okay if it's rude. There's only a threat that the project will be closed", she said.

Counted four times the man had attacked the building project. He came a week ago. In addition to going viral, Anita's company has also reported the incident to the authorities.

She hopes that the police can catch the perpetrators soon so that such incidents do not happen again.

"I hope that nothing like that happens again because it's detrimental to the company, it's also detrimental to me", she said.

When confirmed separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo, said the case was still under investigation regarding the extortion report.

"It is still being investigated. The provisional report that we have is only one report (extortion)", he told VOI when contacted, Thursday, August 26.
