After Bringing Prayers At A Public Cemetery, Nazir Mosque In Rantauprapat North Sumatra Becomes A Stabbing Victim

MEDAN - Marzuki Harahap (54), a mosque nazir in Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra, was stabbed by a man with the initials AR (31).

Marzuki was stabbed with a knife after reading a prayer at a public cemetery in Batusangkar, Rantauprapat.

From the information compiled initially, Marzuki attended the funeral of a resident who died. There, he was asked to pray.

Allegedly at that time, AR had prepared a knife to injure Marzuki. After finishing praying, AR suddenly stabbed his knife into Marzuki's back, until Marzuki finally fell.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Labuhanbatu Police, AKP Parikhesit, confirmed the incident when it was confirmed.

"That's right, (it happened), when (the victim) finished burying (the resident) when he wanted to go home", said Parikhesit to reporters, Friday, August 20.

After being stabbed, Marzuki was immediately rushed to the hospital for help.

"The victim is being treated at the hospital", said Parikhesit.

After the incident the police arrested AR. To find out the motive for the stabbing, AR is currently being investigated at the police station.

"The suspect has been arrested and is under investigation", he said.
