279 Health Workers In Jayapura Exposed To COVID-19, Three Health Centers Close Health Services

JAKARTA - A total of 279 health workers serving in hospitals and health centers in Jayapura City were exposed to COVID-19.

"It is true that a large number of health workers, including doctors, nurses, and analysts, are currently exposed to COVID-19", said Jayapura City COVID-19 Prevention and Handling Task Force Spokesman, Nyoman Antari, in Jayapura as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.

Admittedly, of these 115 people work at the public health center while the others are at the Jayapura Hospital, Dian Harapan Hospital and Bhayangkara Hospital.

From the information received for health workers at the Jayapura Regional Hospital who were positive for COVID-19, there were now 94 people.

Due to the number of health workers who were exposed, three puskesmas were reported to have temporarily closed health services to the community.

"For residents who want to seek treatment, they are welcome to call the call center that is already in every health center and is served online", said Nyoman Antari.

Nyoman, who is also the Head of the Jayapura City Health Office, admitted that although many health workers were exposed, his party still tried their best to provide health services with an online system.

"I have advised the head of the puskesmas not to force myself to serve during the COVID-19 pandemic by serving directly because it can be done online", said Dr. Nyoman Antari.

As of Monday, July 26, cumulatively 11,159 people were positive for COVID-19, 9,422 people recovered, 1,523 people were treated and 214 people died.

In Jayapura City there are 14 health centers and eight hospitals.
