Christmas 2024, 50 Inmates At Ulu Siau Prison Receive Remission

JAKARTA - 50 prisoners or inmates of the Correctional Institution (WBP) Class II B Ulu Siau, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, received remission or reduction of their criminal period at Christmas 2024. The remission they received varied and no one was immediately released.

"Remissions received by inmates start 1 month, 1 month 15 days, and 2 months," said Head of Ulu Siau Prison, Stady Umboh, quoted from Antara, Thursday, December 26.

The inmates who received the remission had met the requirements and were in accordance with applicable regulations. These requirements, among others, during their criminal period, the inmates behaved well and met administrative and substantive requirements.

With the granting of this remission, he said, it will motivate the inmates to continue to do good and serve this criminal period following the applicable regulations.

"This mission will also motivate other inmates who have not received remissions to behave well and follow the rules in prisons," he said.

Currently in Class IIB Ulu Siau Prison, there are 77 prisoners and detainees, consisting of 66 prisoners and 11 detainees.
