JAKARTA - Central Java Governor, Ganjar Pranowo and related parties discussed five alternative efforts to meet the oxygen needs of all regions in Central Java by prioritizing emergencies.

Five alternatives were discussed in the Central Java Medical Oxygen Availability Coordination Meeting, including distribution techniques that were hampered by hospital access, industrial oxygen conversion to health, oxygen saving by hospitals, installation of oxygen generators, and the merger of oxygen supply companies.

"We are trying to ask the central government to convert it. Convert it from industry to health so that (the lack of oxygen supply, ed) can be met", said Ganjar as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

According to him, another problem is the technical delivery of oxygen because often large-capacity oxygen carriers (iso tanks) cannot enter the hospital.

"(This car, ed) is impossible because on average the hospital does not prepare a wider (entrance, ed). 'Wow, sir, there is a gate, there is a gate, sir'. So, I said, if that's the case, the gate will be torn down, it's an emergency", said Ganjar.

Another alternative is to save oxygen in the hospital by changing the device from HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula) to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) whose oxygen flow is not too high, and the price is more affordable.

"It has been practiced at Moewardi Hospital, so we told the Indonesian Hospital Association whether they agree, at least in terms of savings. So we are looking for the movement upstream, the transporter is safe, the hospital can save money, but this is 'sustainable' so that later stock that is in the hospital is sufficient to cover the patient", he said.

In addition, Ganjar plans to combine the management of supply companies with oxygen distributors in this emergency so that the implementation can be open and more quickly overcome the availability of oxygen.

"The existing supplier companies, existing distributors, we want to combine so that they have an MoU so that it becomes open access, "if you don't do it individually, it's mine, I don't want to deposit it there". No, this is an emergency", he said.
