DENPASAR - The truck driver named Ivan Hauser Tahun who crashed into a member of the Denpasar Traffic Unit (Satlantas) Police, Bali while on duty to regulate traffic was named a suspect.

"Based on the results of the investigation and the case title, it has been advanced to the investigation stage and the driver has been named a suspect and has been detained for further legal proceedings", said Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 22.

He said that the accident was suspected to be due to negligence. The driver allegedly disobeyed officers who were carrying out traffic regulations.

"The member of Assistant Police Inspector Ketut Suardana, who is still under treatment, has received direct attention and appreciation from the Bali Police Chief and will be given an award for carrying out the task of managing traffic very well and in the context of prioritizing vaccine escorts", he said.

Previously, the Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra visited a member of the Denpasar Police Satlantas who was being treated at the Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar after having an accident while carrying out his duties in managing traffic at the Pesanggaran intersection, Denpasar, Bali.

Vaccine carrier vehicles are coming from east to west. However, at the same time, a dump truck with license plate number DK 8608 FR appeared.

The dump truck immediately hit Ketut Suardana who was carrying out traffic control duties.

As a result of the accident, Officer Ketut Suardana suffered serious injuries to the head, up to a brain hemorrhage.
