Anticipating The US And NATO Military, Russia Forms 20 New Military Units

JAKARTA - Angry with the actions of the countries that are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) led by the United States in western Europe, Russia plans to establish a new military unit.

Most recently, Russia sent SU-27 fighter jets to accompany the United States' B-52H bombers over the Baltic Sea Monday, May 31 local time, although they did not violate Russian airspace, as reported by Reuters from the Russian news agency.

The increased military activity of NATO countries in recent times, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, has damaged the world's security system.

In a ministerial council meeting yesterday, Shoigu said the formation of new units and formations was a response to the activities of NATO led by the United States

"The military threat to the strategic west direction continues to grow, NATO member countries led by the United States are increasing the intensity of their strategic aircraft flights, the presence of battleships with cruise missiles and their number of exercises is increasing", Shoigu said.

"The actions of our Western partners undermine the world's security systems and compel us to take appropriate action in response. We are continuously improving the combat structure of the forces. About 20 military formations and units will be established in the Western Military District by the end of this year", he stressed.

"The measures of this organization will be synchronized with the delivery of advanced weaponry and military hardware. This year, about 2.000 weapons systems are planned to be delivered to the District troops", Shoigu said.

"In addition to preparing new military formations and delivering advanced weaponry, the Russian Armed Forces continue to improve the training of military personnel and authorities", the Army General continued.

"The warships of the Baltic Fleet have increased the intensity of combat training duty exercises by 30 percent. More than 200 exercises involving various types of weaponry have been fulfilled", concluded Shoigu.
